Walk-In & Reach-In Closets Designed for the Way You Live
At Cowichan Closets, we believe your closet should work as hard as you do.
Our Closet Solutions
As a family-owned, authorized Sherwood Shelving dealer based in the Cowichan Valley, we design and install custom walk-in closets, reach-in closets, and kids’ closets that are built around your space, your lifestyle, and your budget. Every solution uses high-quality, Canadian-made materials, and every project starts with a free in-home consultation.
Walk-In Closets
Turn your walk-in closet into a personal sanctuary. We design luxurious and intuitive layouts that feature dedicated spaces for clothing, footwear, and accessories.
From elegant islands to custom-fit shelving and hanging solutions, we create a streamlined, boutique-like experience right in your own home. Whether you’re starting from scratch or upgrading an existing space, our custom walk-in closets are designed to fit both your room and your routine.
Reach-In Closets
A small space doesn’t have to mean small storage. We specialize in maximizing every inch of your reach-in closets. With smart, multi-level hanging rods, adjustable shelves, and integrated drawers, we can double or even triple your usable storage space, bringing order to bedrooms, hallways, and entryways throughout your home.
Kids' Closets
Create a closet that grows with your child. Our designs focus on accessibility and adaptability, with adjustable shelving and rods that can be repositioned as your child gets older. We make it easy for kids to keep their own rooms tidy with fun and functional storage solutions.

See Your New Closet Before We Build It
Upon request, we create detailed 3D renderings of your closet design so you can see exactly how it will look and function in your space before we begin. No guesswork, no surprises, just confidence in your final result.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does an installation usually take once work begins?
Most residential installs are completed in a single day, though larger or more detailed layouts may take two days. Your installer will confirm the expected timeframe once your design is finalized.
Do I need to empty out the cabinet space before your team arrives?
Yes, we ask that all clothing, boxes, and personal items be cleared out before the install date so our team can work efficiently and safely. If you need a hand planning this, just let us know.
What happens to the old shelving or rods that are already in place?
Our team removes and disposes of the existing setup as part of the installation, so you don’t have to worry about tearing anything out yourself or arranging separate haul-away.
Can a layout be modified later if my needs change?
In most cases, yes. Because the systems use adjustable components, shelves and rods can often be repositioned, and additional accessories can be added down the road as your storage needs evolve.
How far in advance should I book a consultation?
It’s a good idea to reach out a few weeks before you’d like the work done, especially during busier seasons, so there’s enough time for design, ordering, and scheduling.
Do I need to replace my existing doors, or can they stay as they are?
Your current doors can usually stay in place. The interior system is designed to fit within your existing opening, so you’re not required to swap out doors unless you want to.
Is there a minimum size space needed to make a custom design worthwhile?
Not really. Even a modest space benefits from a thoughtful layout, and smaller footprints are often where a tailored design makes the biggest practical difference.
What happens during the in-home consultation?
A consultant visits, takes measurements, discusses how you use the space day to day, and talks through style and budget preferences before putting together a design proposal.
